Optical-resolution frequency domain photoacoustic microscopy

Regarding frequency domain photoacoustic imaging, we will seek to better understand the phenomena at the origin of the signal to optimize the excitation frequency and the acquisition mode. This optimization is required to reduce laser power in order to better meet the medical standard. Another research focus will be on the optical detection of photoacoustic signals for non-contact operation. Two solutions are envisaged : a multi-beam Laser Optical Feedback Imaging (LOFI) device and a Fourier transform full-field interferometer.

Furthermore, we will work on the development of a laser source able to switch quickly to an arbitrary polarization state. This will pave the way for the fabrication of high-frequency modulated sources for conventional frequency domain photoacoustics, as well as a new photoacoustic polarization imaging mode.
